Scott Jeffery
I am a Northern Beaches bloke who regularly went on Sunday morning rides with the family as a kid in Avalon to fetch croissants and it led to riding a bike to primary school, high school and the love of biking stuck.
In 2011/12, after a stint working in media in London, I spent 440 lonely days covering 23,000kms by bicycle from my father’s birth place in Kent London to my birth place - Mona Vale Hospital.
That was just one of multiple adventures by bicycle. I have since ridden Perth to Sydney on a separate biking adventure and when both of my parents decided they would acquire electric bikes I observed the opportunity to promote adventure and active transport by helping people on to join the electric bike revolution!

As a kid my father and I built bikes together starting with rescue dragsters, bmx’s and then a mini bike. I never saw him ride however.
I don’t think there was ever a time when I didn’t ride a bike of some type. Learning to work on bikes was foundational for me and servicing my bikes, riding bikes and reading about bikes is a daily routine.
Several years ago I was an early adopter of eMTB and discovered that I could do so much more riding and after a couple of years of retirement I joined a start up business Sydney Electric Bikes Narrabeen.
We have learned that eBikes get people of all ages outdoors adventuring in their neighbourhood and much further afield. You don’t need to be a fanatic to enjoy eBikes or have the latest lightweight version to enjoy a great ride up the steepest hills or across town to work or school.
eBikes make riding accessible for everyone and help all ages become nuanced to navigating the road and traffic conditions.
GUS WAICHEL
My name is Gustavo, and I’m another Brazilian enjoying the wonders of Australia. I’ve been here for almost a year now. I came across Beaches Electric Bikes through the Brazilian community on the Northern Beaches.
Coincidentally, Scott was looking for someone with sales experience to help out in the shop, and that's where I came in.
My background is entirely focused on sales and customer service, but with each passing day, ebikes have become increasingly important in my life. Come by our shop so we can have a chat, and you can have the electrifying experience of riding an ebike.
MITCH DOOLEY
Mitch is the youngest in age but the oldest in experience in the BEB team.
He started working on weekends at the Hornsby outlet of Sydney Electric Bikes at the age of 15 - he speaks of his experience as follows:
" I’ve been riding bikes for as long as I can remember and started racing mountain bikes when I was 13. Since then, riding and racing have become a huge part of my life, taking me all over NSW and giving me the opportunity to ride and race at some incredible places.
My involvement in the bike industry started at Sydney Electric Bikes in Hornsby before I moved across to the Narrabeen shop, now Beaches Electric Bikes. Working in the shop has allowed me to build my knowledge of e-bikes through servicing, repairs and diagnostics while still spending as much time as possible riding outside of work.
Through the shop, I was introduced to Fantic and Amflow brands and given the opportunity to race as part of their team. Since then, I’ve continued racing and riding whenever I can, while working at Beaches Electric Bikes and helping customers get the most out of their bikes ".
